From Stories to Sprints: How Writing Shaped My Journey in Project Operations
I’m Ayush Kumar, a Project Operations professional and writer, and the person behind AyushWrites.in.
I started writing long before I started working in project operations. Writing taught me to understand people, communicate ideas clearly, and look at situations from different perspectives. My work in project operations added another layer of planning, execution, problem-solving, process improvement, and making complex work more structured.
Over the years, these two sides of my journey have come together. Today, I use both the storyteller’s perspective and the project operator’s mindset in the way I work, learn, and share ideas on this platform.

The Journey from Writing to Project Operations
I started writing in 2016, publishing articles across different blogs and exploring everything from human experiences and personal perspectives to professional topics. Writing continues to be an important part of my life, but over time, my professional interests moved increasingly toward projects, processes, systems, and execution.
That journey eventually led me into project management and operations, where I gained experience working with organizations including Accenture and Amazon.
Working in enterprise environments gave me a closer look at what it takes to move projects forward: coordinating people, managing risks, working with stakeholders, handling changing requirements, improving workflows, and keeping delivery on track.
My MBA became another important part of that journey. During that period, I temporarily stepped away from my website, which gave me a different perspective on consistency, learning, and personal branding.
When I returned to AyushWrites.in, I wanted it to be more than just a personal blog. I wanted to build a platform where I could document what I’ve learned, explore ideas around Project Operations and Process Improvement, and continue developing my own thinking through writing.
What I Focus On Today
My primary focus is Project Operations and Process Improvement.
I’m particularly interested in the practical side of getting work done, how projects are planned and governed, how risks and changes are managed, how teams and resources are coordinated, and how processes can be redesigned to make work more efficient.
Here, I write about areas such as:
Project Operations: project delivery, governance, risk, scope and change control, stakeholders, resources, and operational workflows.
Process Improvement: workflow optimization, business process improvement, Lean thinking, re-engineering, automation, and operational efficiency.
AI & Technology: practical ways technology and AI can improve productivity, processes, and project operations.
Career & Life Insights: experiences, observations, travel, personal growth, and lessons that shape the way I think and work.

For me, writing has never been just about publishing content.

AyushWrites.in brings together my experience as a writer and my professional journey in project operations. Some articles are built around frameworks and practical approaches, while others come from experiences and observations outside work.
The goal is simple — to create useful content that people can learn from, apply to their work, or simply relate to.
Beyond Projects and Processes
Work is an important part of my journey, but it isn’t the whole story.
I’m originally from Ramnagar, a place that has shaped many of my perspectives and kept me grounded. Outside work and writing, I enjoy travelling, exploring different parts of India, experiencing new cultures, and collecting stories along the way.
I still consider myself a storyteller at heart. The difference is that today, some of my stories come from projects, processes, people, and the lessons that come with them.
